JBM Fibers participates in Cotton Inc.’s COTTON. FROM BLUE TO GREEN.™ campaign


In 2006, JBM Fibers agreed to assist Cotton Inc. with its COTTON. FROM BLUE TO GREEN.™ campaign to collect denim from various college campuses, recycle it into a useable product, and demonstrate how students can make an impact on the environment in their own unique way.

After the denim was collected, JBM Fibers processed the collected denim at its facilities in Brownsville, Texas and recycled the denim into its original fiber state, cotton, for the manufacturing of environmentally safe cotton fiber insulation through Bonded Logic Inc.

As a result of the 2006 denim drive, and with help from Habitat for Humanity Baton Rouge, 12 new homes for families affected by Hurricane Katrina were built in the spring of 2007 from the ground up utilizing the natural cotton fiber insulation.

In 2007, COTTON. FROM BLUE TO GREEN.™ visited five universities across the country (Illinois State University, Iowa State University, University of Delaware, University of Oregon and University of South Carolina to collect denim from the student population, as well as surrounding communities. The denim was collected and will be processed by JBM Fibers and Bonded Logic to be converted into natural cotton fiber insulation. The recipient of the insulation will be determined at the end of the university tour in late 2007.

JBM Fibers invests $2.5 million in new upgrades to plant, machinery


As part of its capital improvement plan, JBM Fibers has invested $2.5 million to upgrade its existing plant and machinery. This investment will allow JBM Fibers to substantially increase its production capacity, while maintaining its ability to produce a superior fiber product for its customers.

In consideration of these improvements, JBM Fibers has established itself as one of the most technologically advanced textile recycling companies in the United States.

In coordination with Cotton, Inc.’s denim recycling campaign for 2007, JBM Fibers once again donated its resources to recycle used denim into a product that can be transformed into cotton home insulation.
